A beautiful harvest of medals at the Ligers 2021 competition!
| News
Since 1995, the Ligers contest has taken place the day before the opening of the Loire Wine Show at the Angers Exhibition Center. 2021 will be an exception to the rule, in fact the contest took place before the Salon des Vins re-scheduled in April.
The competition is open to all Loire Valley wines produced or marketed by winegrowers, cooperative cellars and merchants, whether they are exhibitors or not.
This year, the contest put in competition 2557 wines from a great variety of terroirs and appellations from all along the Loire river from Nantes to Clermont Ferrand.
The awards (Gold, Silver, and Bronze Ligers) are granted by Juries made up of professionals and enlightened amateurs and chaired by an oenologist, according to a rigorous tasting protocol. 240 jury members evaluated the wines in strict compliance with barrier gestures.

Gold, silver or bronze, each award-winning wine has been awarded a medal stamped "ligers". This is a significant distinction that is easily identifiable by the general public, a guarantee of quality and controlled discovery.
A real showcase for Loire Valley wines, the panel has surprised with its diversity, authenticity and quality, all appellations combined to obtain a magnificent prize list.
